Judy Torigoe began her piano lessons at the age of 10. She studied with such well-respected pedagogues as Rudolph Ganz and Robert McDowell while a student at Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University, and C. Allen Anderson and Harold Berlinger while a student at Northeastern Illinois University. She was a Music Talent Scholarship recipient at Northeastern and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Piano Performance.

Ms. Torigoe has been teaching successfully since 1992 and established Allegro Music Studio in February of 1997. Her students range in age from 7-year-old children to senior citizens. Many students participate in various competitions, festivals, community events and recitals, and several have earned high honors, including gold medals, in such events.

Ms. Torigoe is a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), and prior to her move to Sedona in March of 2007, was a member of the Illinois State Music Teachers Association (ISMTA) and a member and officer of the Chicago Area Music Teachers Association (CAMTA). She is now a member of the Arizona State Music Teachers Association (ASMTA) and the Northern Arizona Music Teachers Association (NAMTA).

Ms. Torigoe earned the designation of Certified Teacher of Music from MTNA in 1996 and was granted renewal status in 2001 and 2006.

It demonstrates to employers, clients and peers that which the individual knows and is able to do. It signifies commitment to continued excellence in professional practice.
